Millefiori PolyClay Bead Making- Stephanie Wernick

Participants will discover the fun of beadmaking, learning the basics of working with poly clay and of making millefiori canes to  create an endless range of beads . With this material and technique you can create an enormous variety of beautiful beads of all sizes and patterns.

Millefiori is a process traditionally used with glass. It is when multicoloured canes are joined together, cut crosswise and joined into new groups. The canes can then be further sliced crosswise and used in many ways. Participants will learn about conditioning the polyclay, the making of the canes and then the beads, the curing and even some basic jewellery techniques and other decorative pieces. This process is great fun and has so many possibilities.
